Toyota Tundra repair in Miami

A Tundra can run a long time with the right care. The 5.7L V8 trucks have a few well-known weak spots, and the newer twin turbo V6 trucks have recalls you should know about. We check open recalls first and give you a written price before any work.

What we see on the Tundra

Check engine light and low power after a cold start

Many 5.7L V8 Tundras are known for secondary air injection pump and valve failures. The truck sets a check engine light and can drop into reduced power. We test the pump and valves before we replace anything.

Check engine light

Coolant leak at the front of the engine

Water pump leaks are a known wear item on the 5.7L V8. Look for pink crust near the pump or a sweet smell. Catching it early keeps the engine from overheating.

Cooling system

Power steering fluid leak

Toyota recalled certain 2007 to 2021 Tundras because the power steering gear may leak oil (NHTSA 21V920). We check your VIN first, then look for other leaks.

Knocking or rough running on the twin turbo V6

Toyota recalled 2022 to 2024 Tundras with the V35A twin turbo V6 because machining debris can damage the main bearings and lead to engine failure (NHTSA 24V381 and 25V767). If you hear knocking, stop driving and call or text us.

Rough running or stalling on 2018 and 2019 trucks

Many 2018 and 2019 Tundras are in Toyota's fuel pump recall (NHTSA 20V012), and a later recall added more trucks. A weak pump can make the engine run rough or stall. We check your VIN before anything else.

Brakes working hard when you tow

Questions people ask

Do you work on the newer twin turbo Tundra?
Yes. We service 2022 and newer Tundras, including the i-FORCE MAX hybrid. We check open recalls first, because recall work on these trucks is done at a Toyota dealer at no cost.
Will servicing my Tundra here void the warranty?
No. You can have your Tundra serviced at any shop, as long as the work follows Toyota's specs and you keep the records. We give you a written record of every visit.
How often should I service it if I tow?
Towing counts as severe use, and Toyota lists shorter intervals for it. We check the schedule for your truck and how you use it.
