How the price works
In writing, first

Auto body repair

  • Repair dents and creases in doors, fenders, hoods and quarter panels
  • Fix or replace cracked and torn bumper covers, plus the brackets and absorbers behind them
  • Realign panels and doors so the gaps are even and everything opens and closes right
  • Check whether damage reaches the frame or unibody and tell you in writing what straightening it takes
  • Replace broken lights, mirrors, grilles and trim
  • Refinish the repaired area and blend the color into the panels next to it
  • Check for rust under scrapes and chips before it spreads in this humidity

Signs you need this

  • A parking lot ding or a door dent that you see every time you walk to the car
  • A bumper cover hanging, cracked or held on with tape
  • Uneven gaps between a door and a fender, or a door that does not close like it used to
  • Scrapes down to bare metal that are starting to show rust
  • You are selling or turning in a lease and want the body cleaned up first

You get photos and a written price before any work starts, with each part and repair listed. If we find more once a panel comes off, you get a photo and a separate price, and no is a normal answer. Tax applies to parts only, not labor. You pick the warranty length, 90 days, 1 year or 2 years.

What Miami does to a car's body

Tight parking lots, shopping cart dings and fender benders in stop and go traffic on Bird Road and the Palmetto add up. Salt air and humidity turn a scrape down to bare metal into rust faster than in a dry climate.

That is why we look under every scrape. Catching rust early keeps a small repair small.

Repair first, replace when it makes sense

A lot of damage can be repaired instead of replaced, which often saves money and keeps the original panel. When a part is torn, stretched or the mounting points are broken, a new part is the better repair.

Your written price says which one we recommend for each item and why, with photos, so you can decide.

Questions people ask

Can a dent be fixed without repainting?
Sometimes. If the paint is not cracked and the dent is not on a sharp body line, it can often be worked out without paint. We look at it and tell you which kind of repair yours needs before you approve anything.
Repair or replace the bumper?
Small cracks and scuffs can usually be repaired and refinished. Torn covers, broken mounting tabs or damage to the parts behind the cover usually mean a new part. You see both options in the estimate when both make sense.
Can you fix frame damage?
We check whether the frame or unibody is bent and tell you what it takes. On some cars, a bent structure costs more to fix than the car is worth, and we tell you that plainly instead of selling you the job.
Should I go through insurance for a small dent?
It depends on your deductible and the price. Get our written price first, then compare it to your deductible. If the repair costs less than the deductible, most people pay it themselves.
Will the new paint match?
We match from your car's paint code and blend into the panels next to the repair so there is no hard line. Older or sun faded paint takes more blending, and we tell you that up front.
