The independent option for Pinecrest

Tesla runs its own service centers and the other brands work through their dealers, and that is where warranty repairs and recalls belong. For everything else, Sprinter Garage is an independent shop at 7217 SW 42nd St, one block south of Bird Road and just west of SW 72nd Ave.

Take US 1 (South Dixie Highway) north and keep right onto the Palmetto Expressway north. Get off at Miller Drive (SW 56th St), turn right, then left on SW 72nd Ave. Go north about a mile and turn left on SW 42nd St.

To skip the expressway, take SW 67th Ave (Ludlam Road) north to Miller Drive, turn left, then right on SW 72nd Ave. Either way it is about 13 to 14 minutes outside rush hour.

Heat, humidity and EV brakes

Regenerative braking does most of the stopping in an EV, so the pads and rotors barely work. In humid Miami air, rotors rust and caliper slides stick, and the first sign is often a grind after the car sits for a few days. A brake cleaning and lubrication usually comes before new parts.

Heat is also hard on the 12V battery that wakes the car's computers. When it gets weak, the car can show warnings or refuse to wake up, even with a full high-voltage battery.

What we do for Pinecrest EVs and hybrids

12V battery testing and replacement. Brake cleaning, pads, rotors and fluid checks. EV-rated tires, rotations and alignment. Charge port and onboard charger diagnosis. Fault code reading for warning messages. High-voltage battery health checks with a written report. Hybrid battery testing and hybrid system warnings.

Every estimate comes with photos, and we text you at each step.

Warranty first, every time

We run your VIN before we quote. If the factory warranty or a recall covers the repair, we tell you, and it goes to the dealer or the brand's service center at no cost to you. If not, you get a written price with tax on parts only, and you pick the warranty on our work: 90 days, 1 year or 2 years. Book online and the shop confirms by text.

Questions people ask

Is Sprinter Garage part of Tesla or any carmaker?
No. Sprinter Garage is an independent repair shop, not part of Tesla's service network or any carmaker's. That is why warranty and recall work goes to the brand, and why we check for it first.
How do I get to the shop from Pinecrest?
Take US 1 north and keep right onto the Palmetto Expressway north. Get off at Miller Drive (SW 56th St), turn right, then left on SW 72nd Ave, go north about a mile and turn left on SW 42nd St. About 13 minutes outside rush hour.
Will you void my factory warranty?
No. Federal law, the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, says a carmaker cannot void your warranty just because an independent shop did maintenance or repairs. Covered repairs still go to the brand, and you keep your invoices as your record.
Why does my EV grind after sitting for a few days?
Usually surface rust on the rotors, which forms fast in humid air when regenerative braking does most of the stopping. If it goes away after a few stops, it is usually harmless. A grind that stays means the brakes need a look.
Can you do my Tesla's scheduled maintenance?
Yes. Tesla's maintenance list is short: tire rotations, the cabin air filter and brake fluid checks are among the items in your owner's manual. We follow the schedule in your manual, and in our humidity we also check the brakes for rust and sticking.
