Ran a GoodCar report? Get the used car inspected in Miami

A GoodCar vehicle history report tells you what has been reported about a car: title records, accidents, odometer readings, recalls and theft. It cannot tell you how the brakes, transmission or AC are doing today. Before you buy in Miami, bring the car to Sprinter Garage for a pre-purchase inspection with photos and a written report.

What GoodCar shows

GoodCar is run by InfoPay, Inc. It offers vehicle history reports, a VIN check, VIN decoder, license plate lookup, recall lookup, window sticker lookup, and residual value tools. Its FAQ says reports include accident history, title information, odometer readings, NHTSA recalls, theft reports, market values and specs. GoodCar says it is an approved NMVTIS data provider, the national title information system.

That is useful paper history. It shows what was reported, not what was missed.

What only an inspection shows

A report cannot see a slipping transmission, a weak AC compressor, worn brakes, a hidden leak or flood signs that were never reported. In Miami, flood exposure and heat wear are real concerns with used cars. A hands-on inspection checks the parts themselves.

If the window sticker lookup shows a hybrid or EV, we also check what we can on the high-voltage system and tell you which factory warranties may still apply.

Open recalls

If GoodCar's recall lookup shows an open recall, that repair is usually done by a dealer for the brand. Ask the seller whether it was done. We will note anything we see that looks related.

Questions people ask

Is a GoodCar report enough to buy a used car?
It is a good start, but it only shows reported events. A pre-purchase inspection checks the car's real condition today.
What does a pre-purchase inspection in Miami include?
At our shop, a code scan, a test drive when possible, and a lift check of the engine, transmission, brakes, suspension, tires, AC and leaks. You get photos and a written summary.
The GoodCar report shows an accident. Should I still look at the car?
Maybe. We check the mechanical side, like suspension, alignment and leaks. We also do body and paint work, so we look at panel fit and paint for signs of past repair and photograph what we find.
Can you inspect a car I am buying from a private seller?
Yes, if the seller lets you bring it in. Book a time and bring the VIN and the report.
