What ZILOCAR reports include
ZILOCAR is a vehicle history service that searches by VIN. Its reports cover accident and damage history, odometer and mileage checks, safety recalls, title brands and lien status, ownership history, sales records, theft records and recorded photos from the vehicle's past. It says it draws on more than 100 data sources and that reports come back in seconds.
It is a reporting tool. It does not inspect, repair or buy cars.
Use the past photos and mileage on inspection day
Two parts of a ZILOCAR report are especially useful at an inspection. Past photos show what the car looked like at an earlier sale or auction, so you can ask about anything that changed. The mileage history lets you check that the odometer only went up.
On many newer cars, some control modules also store mileage. When our scan tool can read it, we compare it with the dashboard and note any mismatch.
What our inspection covers
Engine, transmission, brakes, steering and suspension, cooling, AC, electrical and a full code scan, plus battery health on hybrids and EVs. We also do body and paint work, so we look at panel fit and paint for signs of past repair. Liens and title questions belong with the seller and the state.
