AGWS service contract? Use a licensed Miami shop and get authorization first
AGWS, American Guardian Warranty Services, suggests going back to the selling dealer if it has a repair shop, but says you may use a repair facility of your choice if it is licensed and can confirm business insurance. Sprinter Garage diagnoses the car and gets AGWS's claim authorization number before any repair.
AGWS at Sprinter Garage
- 1Decide on dealer or local shop
If the dealer that sold the contract has a service department and you can reach it, AGWS recommends it. Otherwise, bring the car to us.
- 2Send us your contract number
Call or text us, or book online. Have your contract and mileage ready.
- 3We diagnose and request authorization
AGWS says every repair needs its authorization in advance. We send the diagnosis and estimate and wait for the claim authorization number.
- 4Written breakdown for you
You get in writing what AGWS approved, your deductible and what is not covered.
- 5Repair and updates
We bill AGWS for the authorized amount and text you at each step.
- A written price for your vehicle before any work starts.
- Sales tax on parts only, never on labor.
- You pick the shop warranty: 90 days, 1 year, or 2 years.
- Photos with every estimate and a text at each step.
Who AGWS is
American Guardian Warranty Services is based outside Chicago and provides administration for agents and dealers that sell vehicle protection products and limited warranties. You usually bought the contract through one of them. AGWS also has RV and appearance protection lines.
Where AGWS lets you repair
AGWS's FAQ says that if you bought the contract from a dealership with a repair facility, it recommends that dealer. You may also take the car to a repair facility of your choice as long as it is a licensed business and can confirm business insurance.
AGWS's FAQ says only authorized claims are guaranteed payment as pre-approved, and that you must receive a claim authorization number before repairs begin.
If your contract needed an inspection
Some AGWS contracts require a vehicle pre-inspection report before coverage. AGWS publishes that form. If yours does, ask AGWS what it needs. We can do a full inspection with photos, but AGWS decides whether to accept it.
Questions people ask
Do I have to return to the dealer for an AGWS claim?
Can the shop start work while waiting for AGWS?
Will AGWS pay the shop directly?
Can you fill out AGWS's pre-inspection report?
What if AGWS does not cover the repair?
Sprinter Garage is an independent repair shop. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by AGWS, and AGWS does not own this shop. AGWS and its marks belong to their owners. What your contract or plan covers is decided by AGWS, not by the shop.
