Sprinter Garage

AAGI AutoGuard or Wheelz contract? Using a licensed shop in Miami

AAGI asks you to take the car back to the selling dealer, and if that is not possible, to any licensed repair facility. If you bought the car somewhere you cannot easily get back to, Sprinter Garage can diagnose it, get AAGI's authorization number before any repair, and explain it to you in writing.

  1. 1
Check if the selling dealer is an option

AAGI's first choice is the dealer that sold you the contract. If that is not possible, bring it to a licensed shop like ours.

  2. 2
    Send us your contract details

Contract number, current mileage and your maintenance receipts. AAGI asks the shop for all of these.

  3. 3
    We diagnose and call AAGI

We find the cause and contact AAGI with the complaint, cause and repair cost. Repairs start only after AAGI issues an authorization number.

  4. 4
    Written breakdown

You see in writing what AAGI approved, the deductible and anything not covered.

  5. 5
    Repair and paperwork

AAGI says it pays the repair facility directly. We send the claim paperwork on time.

  • A written price for your vehicle before any work starts.
  • Sales tax on parts only, never on labor.
  • You pick the shop warranty: 90 days, 1 year, or 2 years.
  • Photos with every estimate and a text at each step.

Who AAGI is

AAGI, American Auto Guardian, provides vehicle service contracts and other protection products through dealers, agents and automakers. It has been part of Amynta Group since 2019. Its products include AutoGuard Plus, AutoGuard Drive, AutoGuard Plus Premium Car Care, AutoGuard Vehicle Shield and Wheelz, a plan for high mileage vehicles.

The authorization rule

AAGI's claim page is direct: repairs may be done only after the authorization number is issued, and repairing, replacing or even cleaning parts before that leads to denial of coverage. AAGI also asks for maintenance receipts, prior invoices, the engine size and transmission type, and the failure cause.

AAGI says claim paperwork for AutoGuard Plus, AutoGuard and Wheelz must be sent within 90 days of authorization. We keep track of that.

How AAGI pays

AAGI says it pays the repair facility directly by check or credit card, and that it will reimburse you by check if you choose to pay for an authorized repair yourself. Either way, you pay your deductible and anything not covered. Roadside assistance runs through the provider number in your contract.

Questions people ask

Do I have to take my AAGI contract back to the dealer?
AAGI says to take it to the selling dealer first. If that is not possible, it says to use any licensed repair facility.
Can I clean or check a part before AAGI authorizes?
Diagnosis is fine, but AAGI says repairing, replacing or cleaning parts before the authorization number is issued leads to denial. We wait for the number.
What does AAGI need from the shop?
The contract number, last six of the VIN, mileage, the complaint, the cause, the parts and labor cost, plus maintenance receipts. We gather it.
Does AAGI pay you or me?
AAGI says it pays the repair facility directly, or reimburses you by check if you paid for an authorized repair. You pay your deductible.
My Wheelz plan covers a high mileage car. Will it cover the transmission?
It depends on your plan's covered parts list. We diagnose it and AAGI decides under your contract.
