    DriveSmart puts its claims number in your policy booklet. Bring the booklet or your contract number, the mileage, and any maintenance receipts.

    DriveSmart's site says to call the claims number in your booklet or have your dealer contact them. We call, send the estimate, and answer the adjuster's questions.

    Before any work, we explain in writing what DriveSmart approved, your deductible, and anything not covered. You decide.

About DriveSmart contracts

DriveSmart Auto Care Inc. was founded in 2016 and writes vehicle service contracts for vehicles up to 20 years old. Its site says the contracts are backed by Lexington National Insurance Corporation. DriveSmart is clear that a vehicle service contract is not a warranty. It is repair coverage that starts helping after the factory warranty ends, sometimes called mechanical breakdown protection.

Many DriveSmart contracts are sold through car dealers. That is why DriveSmart says you can also reach out to your dealer, and the dealer will contact them for you.

Can you use any repair shop?

DriveSmart's public site does not spell out its repair facility rules. Your contract does. Look in your booklet for the section on where repairs can be done and any labor rate limits, or ask DriveSmart when we call together. We will not start a covered repair until DriveSmart confirms the claim.
